American Bison
Cody is a four year old American Bison weighing approximately 1600 to 1800 pounds and may reach up to 2000 pounds. In the past, hundreds of thousands of these large animals roamed the western plains but were nearly reduced to extinction by over hunting. The Bison feed mainly on grass and some leaves and eat grain in captivity requiring over 30 pounds of food per day.
